What a great 2007 Season!
Dave Byrd
and the Performance Electric, Super Clean, Splash, Richard Heath & Associates,
Freeport Automotive, Team Chevrolet, Strandwold Properties, Swendeman
Hardware team really came through!
On December 8th, 2007, Dave Byrd and
the complete Bob Strandwold Racing Team were crowned Champions of
the Stockcar Racing League. A special ceremony was held at the Buck
Owens Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, California.
After thanking the series sponsors and
his fellow competitors for helping make the SRL Series such a
competitive and yet great experience for all, Dave thanked team
members, friends and family for all the great support.
After receiving the championship
trophy's, Dave and car owner Bob Strandwold invited each team member
on stage. Crew Chief Jeff Strandwold, Chief Mechanic George Mather,
General Mechanic and cosponsor Rick Swendeman as well as Tire
specialist and Las Vegas resident Johny LaFever were presented with
a commemorative championship jacket from the SRL.
The Bob Strandwold
owned racing team ran a total of 15 races, running the complete Stockcar Racing
League schedule with several other starts in a couple
of other series mixed in. Three wins and the SRL Championship left
the team celebrating Dave's 16th Career Driving Championship!
